Do You Want To Be Free Of Your Pain?
My goal here is to share with you a powerful form of therapeutic coaching that top athletes are already aware of.
Here is my basic idea of pain, see if you agree…
Pain or chronic discomfort is the body’s way of telling you something needs attention. You drop something on your foot and the pain is instant. The central nervous system (CNS) sends a message at hyper-speed to your mind, which does lots of things very quickly at this point but the main thing you get is the registration of PAIN! Followed in many cases by a few well chosen words (depending on who’s in ear shot).
Pain is the mind responding to signals from your CNS letting you know there is some sort of damage or disruption to your body. If you get a dent in your new car you take it to a body shop, if you have engine problems you take it to a mechanic. But unlike cars our engine comes in TWO parts…Mind & Body.
What many people tend not to recognise is that pain can also be subtle; it can get more intense over various amounts of time depending on what the cause is. Remember pain is the signal or message from your mind telling you that something is wrong. It may well be that the cause of the pain signal being sent has its roots deeper than the physical symptoms outwardly observed by you or anyone else. Pain reduction pills can only do so much since all that is really going on is the temporary interruption of the pain signal. In many if not all cases….”This does nothing to remove or deal with the cause of the pain signal.”
I am not sure why we evolved into a race of people who less than 500 years ago would have listened to their body and acted accordingly to heal the mind and body and move on. Today all there seems to be is a heavy leaning towards suppressing the pain (signal) and doing nothing about the actual problem. Giving a type of pain (signal) a label or name does not make the problem go away on the contrary if allowed to persist it will take up residence in the mind of the recipient and resist all attempts at removing the “idea” thus condemning the “believer” to a life of pain…Is this you?
What you are actually doing is suppressing the bodies signaling system to let you know you have to fix something. If you dampen this message that your body is trying to send you eventually, the pain will impinge on other areas of your life, perhaps affecting your sleep, walking up or down stairs or simply unscrewing a lid from a jar. This will continue until you address and resolve the underlying issues and deal with the cause – the true cause.
Unfortunately, most doctors simply don’t have the time to address the mind-body connection or are unaware of the role the mind plays in the creation and cession of pain. When diagnosing, your doctor will look for very specific signs, symptoms, and disease characteristics. He will also consider your medical history, physical examination, blood tests, and imaging studies. The physical examination to try to see any visible signs and symptoms that point to arthritis:
Redness/warmth around a joint inflammation
Joint stiffness or tenderness
Joint fluid or swelling
Bumps or nodules
Pattern of affected joints (e.g. symmetric or asymmetric)
Limited range of motion
A single symptom or a single test result is not enough to diagnose arthritis. Certain symptom patterns and tests are used to rule out specific types of arthritis in order to narrow down the type and preferred treatment which usually involves a course of anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAID’s – Non Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs) to reduce the pain.
The word ‘arthritis’ is a label to group together some 100-200 types of arthritis – but what causes the arthritis? Determining the cause of arthritis can be difficult, because often several factors contribute to an individual developing this common problem. We are told it can be Genetics, Age, Weight, Previous injury, Occupational hazards, Illness or Infection or a disease that gradually builds up, or a group of conditions that cause inflammation in the joints gradually destroying the cartilage and bone or simply wear and tear from old age – but could it be something else…
It is widely understood that negative emotions such as: grief, fear, hatred, shame, resentment, anger and stress and various other life issues have an effect on our body. New information is emerging that suggests that negative emotions cause disruption and miscommunication within and between the bodies major healing systems, specifically the lymphatic system (LS) and the CNS leading to a physical breakdown of the body. Doctors are only focusing on the physical aspect of the body, the arthritis, in order to deal with the pain, the symptom, and are completely missing the negative emotions that caused the pain in the first place.
We are constantly told that there is no ‘cure’ for arthritis and this is endorsed by our doctor’s, National Health industry, the national press and media sources. Some doctors actually compound the problem of arthritis and leave the patient with no hope for the future. When asking the doctor what can they expect? They are typically informed that, ‘there is no cure for arthritis… that they’ve got it for life… it’s going to get worse… and eventually, they might have to have major surgery to replace the joint and, in the mean time, only the conventional drugs and medications are available.’ Wow, that’s something to look forward to… but don’t be hard on the doctor’s, they are only confirming what the drug industry dictates.
What if there doesn’t need to be a ‘cure’ for arthritis – only a correction?
When the emotional trauma that is directly linked to the arthritis is dissolved, the body re-establish’s the communication between the CNS and the LS to the site of pain. The LS is the body’s drainage system, and once re-connected is able to eliminate the build-up of excess waste materials, the dead blood, skin and organ cells and all the pollutants and chemicals from food, household cleaners, solvents and petrol etc. through the natural
