Osteoarthritis And Rheumatoid Arthritis – Discover How They Are Different In The Next 10 Minutes!

Osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis are two different diseases that are most often confused with each other due to the similar symptoms. What are their differences and is there a common treatment for both of them? Find out the expert answers in this article.

The research paper that has been released by Terrebonne Gen. Medical centre (TGMC) entitled “osteoarthritis vs. Rheumatoid arthritis” states that the pain should be evaluated by a doctor.

Even though the symptoms of osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis might be similar, but their long-term effects are quite different. If rheumatoid arthritis is left without treatment, it can lead to substantial damage to the joints and deformities in the other parts of the body.

Another difference between osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis is that while osteoarthritis is the result of “wear and tear” of the joints through many years and is usually found in people around the age of 50; rheumatoid arthritis is not caused due to “wear and tear”, but it causes “wear and tear” and is also found in children, adults and elderly people.

Rheumatoid arthritis is considered to be an “inflammation autoimmune disorder”. It implies that the body becomes incapable to identify itself to the bottom of its cellular level. As the natural response of the body immune system is to attack the foreign bodies that are not part of the body, so the body naturally launches an attack when it doesn’t recognize any part of the body as a part of itself.

In case of rheumatoid arthritis, the body misinterprets cartilage, bone or fluid as an invader and sends signal to the immune system to launch an attack. Therefore, white blood cells are sent to the area as a means of fighting infection and inflammatory compounds are produced, even though the fact is that there is no infection in reality. This leads to redness, swelling and pain in the joints.

The immune system is quite complex and this is just a very simplistic explanation to explain the major differences between osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis; so that people can opt for professional diagnosis and take necessary action for early treatment.

In the report “osteoarthritis vs. Rheumatoid arthritis” released by TGMC, the author warns that if left without adequate treatment, rheumatoid arthritis can lead to a serious damage to the joints in just a matter of 2 years. In fact, early diagnosis and effective treatment is required right from the early stages in order to prevent further development of the disease. In many cases, people go into remission period, where the symptoms recede for a temporary period.

Omega-3 fatty acids are one of the most effective, natural and side effect free alternative for treatment of arthritis conditions. There is substantial evidence that they help to reduce arthritis pain, prevent deformities, improve the joint mobility and reduce tenderness in joints and morning stiffness. Fish oil and its purified supplements are one of the best sources of Omega 3 fatty acids.

Similarly, the green lipped mussel found in New Zealand is another wonderful source of omega-3 fatty acids. It also helps effectively in reducing pain and joint stiffness, improve joint mobility and grip strength in patients suffering from osteoarthritis.

To sum up, in case you are suffering from osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis symptoms, an inclusion of omega-3 fatty acids in your diet in the form of fish oil supplements can help significantly to reduce inflammation and provide effective pain relief. You should consult your doctor and take the most appropriate action.

Your physician tells you, you suffer arthritis. Can he or she instruct you what kind of arthritis you have or else what is causing it? These are not unfair questions, yet you will rarely acquire answers. This is for the reason that arthritis is largely a disorder of symptoms- a syndrome, to be further accurate. Equally long as physicians lump symptoms into single category, and do not examine the causes of the symptoms, there can be present no faith or treatment. All is not lost, however, or you would not be evuluating this section!

Causes of arthritis are: Digestive problems, undernourishment, a excessive fat diet, substance sensivity, food allergies, and even a tiny organism identified as the limax amoeba.

The allergy Connection

Your body can be its own most awful adversary, if you don?t deal with it right. Researchers consider arthritis an autoimmune sickness since the symptoms are caused by the body?s immune order attacking its own tissues. Just as we have come to identify red, scratchy eyes as an allergic symptom, arthritis ought to be received as another. Within getting to the cause of arthritis, we have to look at the potential allergens that are responsible.

At what time arthritis patients had their food allergies to establish the identity and eliminated, their symptoms ended or were improved.

When it comes to identifying allergens, scrape the standard evaluation. The nutriment in solid form elimination diet and Coca Pule Test are much more reliable. Because allergens is able to resultthe heart rate to rise, taking your pulse in the morning upon rising, and to view in relation to it to your rate subsequent to consumption certain foods will aid you goal to be achieved offending nutrition.

Narrow your record down to the following foods questionable for the majority allergy sufferers: Beef, sugar, chocolate, eggs, citrus fruits, coffee, corn, malt, milk, pork, potatoes, soybeans, spices, tomatoes, wheat and mildew.

Contemplate furthermore removing nightshade products, which many are subject to an allergic reactionto. Located close together one-third of those who suffer from rheumatoid arthritis are susceptible to nightshade plants.

Tobacco is a nightshade. Can you iform a mental image rolling up a leaf of poison ivy and smoking it? That?s what people who are subject to an allergic reaction to nightshades perform at what time they smoke. Other nightshades are potatoes, tomatoes, eggplant, and peppers, Read you labels! Nightshades can be hidden ingredients in processed foods, Better yet, stay away from processed products altogether. People who study this have found those with subject to an allergic reaction symptoms are often sensitive to the 3,000 substance additives we ingest, plus 10,000 environmental chemical contaminants assaulting our bodies each day.

A lack of hydrochloric acid and digestive enzymes in the stomach, frequent amongst people more than forty, can in addition play a role regarding food allergies. This slowdown of absorption will moreover create over-large nutriment in solid form molecules, which finish up in the bloodstream. The defensive response by the person to these molecules creates the subject to an allergic reaction response that leads to arthritis symptoms.

It could sound hopeless, taking into account the sheer volume of substance antagonists existing in our natural environment these days. But I would not be here if there weren?t answers and solutions to the arthritis dilemma.

As with any disorder, disorder or disease, fine nourishment is essential. For such an extreme symptom as arthritis, supplementation is the greatest way to reach.

An imbalance of prostaglandins-too much or too many ?can be a origin of many general sickness, arthritis for one. Borage oil is a good origin of prostaglendins and experimental tests have revealed it to be not merely a valuable remedy for arthritis, but a replacement for commonly used non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medication (nsaids. NSAIDS have unsafe side effects. Frequent treatment causes stomach ulcers and liver and kidney sickness. Deaths have even been connected with MSAID use.

A calcium deficiency can actually result arthritis symptoms. Vitamin C is an added arthritis essential. Research have revealed vitamin C, enhanced with bioflavonoids, reduces inflammation and this synovial joint fluid, contributing to easier and greater range of motion.

Arthritis Causing Food – White Flour

Edit Article |

]]>

White flour is used to make white bread, pasta, noodles, cakes, biscuits, doughnuts, pies and many other foods. White flour is one of the foods in our diet which results in many chronic diseases including arthritis. We must make a concerted effort to avoid food made from white flour. White flour is made from whole grains. What starts out as a natural whole food, whole grains, become something that is poisonous to our body through processing. Many of us are familiar or have some idea about the white flour making process.

First of all, the bran which is the outer shell of the grain is removed. The outer shell contains most of the fibre content in the grain and is then either thrown away or sold at a health food shops as fibre supplement. This means that white flour has little or no fibres. Subsequently, the germ, a small part congregated at one end of the grain and which contains all the nutrients is removed because it sticks to the processing machine . The remaining part of the grain called endosperm is ground into a fine powder.

This powder, at this stage is brownish in colour is then bleached with chemicals just like you bleach your clothes. This residual chemical bleach remains in the flour and will enter your body as toxins. Flour mills use different chemical bleaches, all of which are pretty bad. Here are a few of them, chlorine, chloride, oxide of nitrogen, nitrosyl and benzoyl peroxide mixed with various chemicals of the salt family. All of these bleaches are extremely harmful to the body. Chloride oxide, when combined with proteins left in the flour, produces alloxan which is a poison and has been known to produce diabetes in laboratory animals. Chlorine oxide also destroys the vital wheat germ oil.

The flour is now white and containing no fibres and vitamins and minerals. To give it some desirable effect for commercial purposes since no one would by such a product, some artificial coal-tar derived vitamins and minerals are added and the flour is then labelled as “enriched”. These artificial nutrients are of very low qualities and unnatural compared to those in the removed germ. Besides, in the process of making flour white, half of the valuable unsaturated fatty acids are lost in the milling process. As a result, the flour in the white bread and some other foods contains only poor quality proteins and fattening starch and lots of harmful chemicals.White flour is therefore dangerous to eat and no wonder why many scientists belief that it is one of the main culprits of many serious diseases.

Foods made from white flour should be avoided in order to cure arthritis. Chemicals in white flour will become toxins in the body and encourage the body to produce more free radicals. The toxins as explained before cause blockages of blood vessels in and out of the joints and therefore lessen the amount of the nutrients going to the joint cartilage. Free radicals also cause damage to the joints by attacking the joint cartilage. A combination of chemicals and the lack of nutrients in white flour is therefore detrimental to our general health and contributory to the severity of arthritis. White bread should be replaced by brown bread in your diet.Foods made from white flour include breads, pastas, noodles, pancakes, cakes, biscuits etc.

One thing to note is that whilst brown bread is better than white bread and is often recommended by your doctor, you should only eat it in moderation as they contain yeast which some scientists say is not good for your overall health and can even shorten your life expectancy. I have given eating bread of any kind altogether and feel much more healthy. If you normally eat a lot of bread, on giving it up you will feel a remarkable improvement healthwise.

The best substitutions for bread are rice, especially brown rice and potatoes.

The Great Physician’s Rx for Arthritis (Great Physician’s Rx Series)

Like age, arthritis has a way of creeping up on you until one morning, that occasional stiffness in the knee or soreness in the hands turns into “That hurts!” type of pain. Prolonged physical activity only prolongs the soreness.

Arthritis is a general medical term that refers to inflammation of the joints. The word “arthritis” is a blend of the Greek words “arthron” for joint and “itis” for inflammation. Frequent cracking of the joints and early morning stiffness are common symptoms of osteoarthritis, even during pain-free periods. Some will joke that they can tell a weather change is ahead when their knees act up, but that’s because painful joints can be sensitive to a falling of barometric pressure, which signals rain in the forecast.

Arthritis often begins subtly with a little ache and stiffness in the knees or shoulders. Or it may herald its arrival with sharp pain and swollen, tender joints. Arthritis takes center stage, however, when you feel as stiff as a board when you pull yourself out of bed in the morning. Stiff spines, creaky necks, and balky backs can zap the life out of even the most optimistic individuals. Those with arthritic hands and wrists find it painful to type or even use a computer mouse, while some with arthritic knees shuffle around with pain as their constant companion. Arthritic hips not also restrict mobility but impact a couple’s love life since arthritic hip pain can make sexual relations painful, particularly for women. No matter how you cope or make lifestyle adjustments, arthritis is a pain to live with.

In The Great Physician’s Rx for Arthritis, Jordan Rubin, along with Joseph Brasco, MD, recommends a total lifestyle program for the health of the body, mind, and spirit that’s much more effective than sleeping on a bed of magnets each night, and it’s based on the seven keys to unlock your God-given health potential found in his foundational book The Great Physician’s Rx for Health and Wellness.

Managing Arthritis Pain – How you Can Stay in Control of your Arthritis

]]>

Have you ever ridden on a roller coaster and felt like you were out of control? LIFE can be like a roller coaster for those of us with Arthritis. There are good days and bad days. It is what we do with what we have—that counts.

Arthritis affects nearly 70 million Americans. There are more than 100 types of arthritis including rheumatoid arthritis and degenerative arthritis. There are numerous arthritis treatments to help manage the pain as well. Arthritis is a major cause of chronic pain and leading cause of disability in the United States.

Did you know that the word arthritis literally means “joint inflammation?” Inflammation and pain are involved in most types of arthritis. Aching, throbbing, nagging, sometimes sharp pain – arthritis hurts!

It can make simple, daily activities like opening a pill bottle, getting out of a chair or even walking difficult. There is no cure for arthritis but there are things you can do to help manage arthritis pain symptoms.

See your doctor: Know what type of arthritis you have. Early diagnosis is important to proper treatment and prevention of permanent joint damage. Follow your doctor’s advice.

Keep a Positive Attitude: Make a plan for managing your arthritis. Take control. Arthritis is a condition that requires your participation in ongoing care.

Control your weight: Increased weight adds stress on joints in your back, hips, knees and feet. Less weight will reduce this stress.

Exercise: Stay fit! Exercise regularly to build muscles and keep joints moving well. Inactivity can increase your weight gain and your pain. Exercise (even walking 30 minutes a day or 10 minutes 3X a day) can increase strength and stability in weakened muscles and mobility in your joints. Remember the saying “Use it or lose it” – Then MOVE it!

Relax your muscles: Stress increases muscle tension, pain and feelings of helplessness and depression. Try relaxing by tensing and releasing muscle groups. Start at your head and work down to your toes. Deep breathing also helps to reduce stress.

Use assistive devices: Specially designed tools, called assistive devices, can help you perform basic activities. Long handled reachers, padded cooking utensils, etc., are available in stores, catalogs, and online.

Avoid improper positions: Using good posture and good body mechanics will help protect your joints. Don’t slouch in your chair; keep your head, neck and back straight, your legs uncrossed and your feet on the floor. This will help you reduce unnecessary pain.

Move around: Don’t stay in the same position too long. Taking frequent stretch breaks will reduce joint stiffness and pain.

Respect your Arthritis pain: Pain is a signal from your body that something is wrong. Arthritis causes some chronic pain, but when you have sudden excessive pain after an activity, you may have overexerted yourself or have been doing the activity incorrectly. Listen to your body, learn your limits and take extra care when you have pain.

Know your limits: Rest when you are tired. Arthritis can cause fatigue muscle weakness – a deep exhaustion that makes everything you do a great effort. Give yourself permission to rest. Pace yourself – don’t overexert yourself on one project. Break jobs down into smaller pieces that you can do over a period of time with rest breaks.

With proper attention to these items you can manage your arthritis pain.

An Introduction To Guided Meditation

Edit Article |

Posted: Mar 02, 2010 |

]]>

Meditation in its truest sense does not only help people in developing tranquility, calmness, and inner peace but also to grow as a true person. However, some people have misconceptions about meditation as being a hippy act or something associated with marijuana smoking. They did not realize that meditation is done so that the mind can think better to improve the condition of life.

Guided meditation is a form of meditation wherein someone guides you throughout the meditation process and helps you to obtain the result of some descriptions. Many people associate meditation with just sitting cross legged on the floor, eyes closed and repeatedly go humming. This is not the result that most people want because the essence is totally absent.

Compared to other things, meditation must be done with a purpose. Take for instance; you are applying for a job out of a purpose. Once hired, you will have a monthly salary that you can use for example; purchasing a car, house, food, or spend on vacations. Probably, you will not work if you don’t have any purpose.

Meditation is precisely the same. A purpose is needed when meditating and it can vary in many ways. Meditation is done to achieve inner peace, bring about concentration, relax, change the state of the mind, improve learning and creativity, build self-esteem and confidence, focus on healing oneself, control external and internal pain, and overcome fears. The reasons for doing meditation are really unlimited.

You don’t have to be afraid during the guided meditation process since someone ensures that you are taking the right path for achieving your objectives. Thus, it is very important that you choose your meditation guide properly. Different practitioners and experts on guided meditation have different strategies. They facilitate people to experience the different meditation paths according to their objectives.

Most meditation experts are teaching deep breathing methods for beginners to orient them in practicing relaxation as well as in maintaining focus. Meditations paths will not certainly work if you failed in the first step. Keep in mind that meditation guides are unique from one another. So, ask the meditation guide for a free meditation lesson before paying for the services.

In a single meditation center, meditation practitioners dramatically differ in their guiding process. Make sure that you choose the one who works best for you. For example, you are challenge to find new thoughts and ideas about meditation. Then you are encouraged to purchase a guided meditation CD. You try to listen to it at home, but after a few minutes, you burst out in a loud laugh. The voice sounds totally unreal because it was altered digitally. This tool for guided meditation will not work for you since you are not serious about it. However, this meditation CD can work for other people.

So, choose from other guided meditation styles. You can get it from the internet or local bookstore. Guided meditation DVDs, CDs, and videos are very much widely available. Again, never rush in buying one for yourself or as a gift. Check out if free samples are available. Meditation programs with good quality are usually open for viewing and testing. This is the same if you wanted to go to meditation centers or health retreats. Finally, guided mediations will be successful if you are patient enough to do regular meditation practice.

Arthritis medicines for dogs had never been so useful and functional until today. With the alarming population growth of dogs with arthritis, experts know that it is important to administer reliable medicines for dogs to control or prevent arthritis.

Like humans, dogs have a remarkable array of cartilage, bones, and ligaments that make up the canine skeletal system. Just like the typical bone structures in humans, dogs’ bones are also connected by joints. These joints provide flexibility for jumping, running, moving the neck and head, climbing, and trotting.

Joint Damage

For proper lubrication and to ensure that bones maintain flexibility, a thin membrane known as synovium provides synovial fluid. However, due to the joints’ wear and tear and intermittent cases of diseases or injuries, joints can be damaged and may cause inflammation or arthritis.

The most common cause of dog arthritis is old age. Due to the wear and tear of the joints or cartilages, a protective layer that guarantees bone flexibility, joint inflammation or arthritis develops. And dogs cannot simply escape this condition. And even if there cannot be marvelous medications to treat dog arthritis, much can be done to help dogs bear the pains arthritis can bring.

At some point, surgery can be administered to dogs with severe cases of arthritis. However, most dogs experience manageable arthritis and are simply given medications to control pain. Along with the right diet and consistent exercise, dogs can effectively manage the bouts of arthritis attack.

Pain Relievers

One of the most distracting effects of arthritis in dogs is pain. Unlike humans, who have higher tolerance for pain, dogs may find it hard coping with the soreness and throbbing that arthritis can bring.

Hence, it is important that dogs be given pain relievers. Health experts say that pain relievers used by humans can also be used in dogs. Although dogs are prone to side effects, controlling pain can still be provide significant relief.

For so many years, aspirin has been the most common pain reliever for humans. With this, experts say it can also be used in dogs. However, dog owners should take note that aspirin can also cause stomach irritation in dogs especially if the medication has been taken with an empty stomach. Hence, it is advisable that aspirin must be taken during meals.

Also, keep in mind that dogs should not be given more than two tablets of aspirin in a week. Try to consider your dog’s weight as well for proper dosage. For example, a 30 to 40 pound dog should take half tablet twice a day.

Fewer Side Effects

On the other hand, some medicines are said to be more effective and have fewer side effects. One good example is Rimadyl, generic name for Carprofen. This medication aids in controlling pain. However, just like any drug, long-term use may cause adverse effects such as liver damage. Hence, veterinarians suggest that dogs are subject to regular blood tests just to assess the normal functioning of the liver.

Some medicines are also effective in stimulating the creation of joint fluid known as synovial fluid. They can also impede the accumulation of harmful enzymes that trigger swelling or soreness in the joints. These medications attach to torn or broken cartilage to increase metabolism, thus, speeding up the progress of repair.

One good example is Adequan or polysulfated glycosaminoglycan. This is an injectable medication for dog arthritis. Since it is injectable, Adequan is said to be fast acting and effective when administered through intramuscular injection. Best of all, experts say that this specific type of arthritis medication for dogs can provide pain relief as long as six months.

Some medicines are designed to provide fast relief with minimal side effects and gastrointestinal problems. And with the natural behavior of dogs, some medicines provide ease in administering treatment.

Supplements

Supplements count as one of the most important medications for dogs with arthritis. These medicines do not just provide reliable pain relief but can also promote proper shaping of cartilage and joint.

Veterinarians suggest that these medicines should be administered in dogs that are still at the earliest stage of arthritis. In this way, further damage and inflammation in the joints can be prevented. Moreover, these medicines try to preserve the remaining joints to facilitate growth and repair and maintain the normal functioning of the skeletal system.

To date, there are still no medications that can effectively eliminate dog arthritis. But with the help of arthritis medicines for dogs, such as pain relievers and supplements, dog arthritis can be bearable. To be on the safe side, make sure to discuss all treatments with your veterinarian.

No Single Medication Can Be Used To Treat All Instances Of Arthritis

The best arthritis medication that you can think of taking will, to a large extent, depend on the nature of your arthritis problem and no single medication can be said to be the best that will help treat every different kind of arthritis condition. Arthritis is something that is very wide-ranging and includes things such as rheumatoid arthritis and even gout. Thus, you will find many arthritis medications available that will prove them effective for different conditions and which can be used on their own, or along with other drugs as well as treatments.

Anti-Inflammatory Properties

It would desirable to take arthritis medication that also includes anti-inflammatory properties that will help deal with the inflamed joints that usually cause the patient a lot of pain. There are many non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs of which aspirin and ibuprofen are good examples that can also be bought without the need of a prescription, though care should be taken to consider their side effects that can be minor as well as a bit unpleasant.

There is also arthritis medication in the form of alternative medicines and some natural cures as well, though how effective such medicines would be is open to doubt since they are usually not regulated as is the case with pharmaceuticals. An example of such alternative medicines that can be used as arthritis medication is glucosamine that is a natural substance obtained from sea fish and also crustations, which are supposedly instrumental in providing relief from arthritis pain. Some hospitals use this arthritis medication and it is also available as powder capsules as well as in liquid form.

You might also want to consider another arthritis medication that can help with your arthritis pain and this is the painkilling injection that is injected at the spot where you are feeling the arthritis pain, and its effects can last for a few weeks. You can use different types of pain medications which in most cases are very effective and an arthritis sufferer would be glad of taking them, though one must choose only the most suitable injection to get best relief.

If in doubt, and even under normal circumstances, it would be best to consult a doctor regarding the best arthritis medication and even health care specialists would be able to lead you in the right direction. Trying something new without first being advised by a doctor can be dangerous and best avoided, and you must always be sure that whatever arthritis medication you choose to take, has first been approved by a medical professional so that you can be sure that you are getting the best treatment possible.

The arthritis drug- Prexige, used by thousands of Britons, has finally been banned in the UK following a series of deaths due to the drug’s side effects. The manifestation of arthritis has been constantly increasing throughout the world which has called upon the need for a reliable and affordable ,rheumatoid arthritis treatment.

One such remedy, RumoCare is a blend of unique herbal supplements known for the effective treatment of arthritis. This herbal remedy diminishes severe pain and inflammation and improves dexterity of joints. This great herbal supplement offered by Ayurveda eliminates impurities from deep crevices of the joints, muscles, ligaments and cartilages.

Arthritis is basically a severe inflammatory and disabling condition affecting the joints of the human body. It is an autoimmune disorder which can lead to substantial loss of mobility due to joint destruction. The severity of this disorder is evident from the findings of a research study which state that around 60% of the patients suffering from arthritis are unable to work for several years after the onset of this disease.

Arthritis is a rheumatic disease accompanied by various illnesses and distinctive attributes, complications, diagnosis and treatments. The outbreak of arthritis is characterized by stiffness, swelling and redness of the affected joint area. Patients may experience inflammation of the joints and immense joint pain with limited functionality.

Some forms of arthritis may also affect other organs of the body that are not directly associated with the joints. People suffering from such forms of arthritis may have fever, swelling of glands, fatigue and abnormalities of lungs, heart or kidneys.

There is no one particular cause of this complicated joint disease. But risks of getting afflicted with arthritis increase with the progression in age as the cartilages become fragile and the self-repair ability of the body decreases. Factors such as excessive body weight, genetics, involvement in high-level sports, joint infections and previous major injuries can be a part of the cause of arthritis.

Arthritis pain relief may begin at home itself. Herbs like ginger, lavender, rosemary, thyme and olive oil can be very beneficial in relieving pain. Relaxing in a tub filled with warm water for about 30 minutes every night can be very soothing for the muscles as well as the joints. But above all, nothing can work as effectively as the original natural science of the alternative medicine offered by the Ayurveda.

So revitalize your daily energy levels and toughen your immune system’s self-healing ability with the Ayurveda’s rheumatoid arthritis treatment.

What You Did Not Know About Meditation

Meditation serves as a foundation for changes. It prepares the mind for new experiences, because it removes negative thinking and other impurities.

Meditation has many benefits but there are some meditation experiences that are not widely known. Some of them are unusual, some exciting, some even scary. I think it is fair for you to know a different side of meditation which is not often discussed.

I can straight away say that despite strange meditation experiences it is worth practising meditation. Benefits outweigh the temporary discomfort to a high degree.

Different meditation experiences

When you start meditating you see only benefits. You notice that you become much more peaceful only after a couple of meditation practices. You become less reactive to negative incidents and your positivity rises to a high degree.

This is the stage that is exciting but most people fail to pass to the next stage because they fall back to their old habits and start taking shortcuts in meditation – they shorten meditation time, do not concentrate on their breathing or mantra and fail to allocate less noisy times for meditation.

Those that continue meditation (after two weeks or so) get to the next stage. They enter deeper meditation and start experiencing fourth dimension. This happens because they finally establish deeper connection with the source and the source shows itself through the person.

You start getting meaningful dreams that show you how you are doing on your path and what changes you need to make. Dreams can also show the glimpse of the future and different warnings.

You become much better at manifesting if your regularly meditate. Because your negative emotions, thinking and beliefs are gradually disappearing, your manifestations reach you faster and you get more synchronicities along the way.

Your eating habits change. You are likely to become vegetarian, then vegan, then go raw, if you continue meditating. Meat is out of the question for serious meditators because you start perceiving the meat of animals to be the same as the meat of humans.

You understand life better, you understand what pain animals feel and you certainly would not want to hurt some animal. It just feels so cruel when I see someone eating meat. By eating meat people are polluting their bodies with negative energy that comes from the animal that was slaughtered.

When you keep meditating, a specific energy starts concentrating in your root chakra (at the base of the spine). This energy is called Kundalini. The energy starts moving up until it reaches the crown chakra. This happens over a very long time. When it goes through your crown chakra (your head) you may become enlightened. Something to look forward to!

However, if Kundalini energy starts moving up too fast, you may experience very extreme discomfort that even lead some people to insanity. So it’s important not to mix meditation with other psychic experiments or anything of that nature. I will explain what to do if you awaken this energy too fast at the bottom of this article.

When you get into the deep meditation, it is easy to reach non-physical beings. If you want to communicate with your spirit guides (tried), your angels (did not try) or enlightened human beings that once lived on earth, you can do that. Of course, that comes with practice and willingness to establish such connection.

You get involuntary body movements. When your nervous system is being cleansed, you will get various contractions and spasms in different parts of your body.

That is all normal and do not get scared if that happens. I have experienced very slight movements of my fingers mostly, but I know some people experience severe movements of the whole body. It just depends how much junk you need to get out of your body.

Most people start meditation without knowing what their actual experiences will be like. They usually start meditating because they know that they can become more peaceful and less negative. But they often do not research meditation experiences fully, therefore they get scared when something unusual happens to them.

If you only meditate for the peace of mind and positivity, you cannot go far in meditation. Of course, elimination of negativity is taking place all the time during meditation, but the more you meditate, the deeper into meditation you get.

You cannot avoid experiencing fourth dimension and other meditation experiences if you keep meditating. It would be the same as driving to another city and expecting to see the views of your old city. It does not work this way.

However, if you feel that you move faster than you should, you can cut on meditation time and do spinal breathing before meditation as long as you feel that you are not ready to experience more. You can also do some grounding activities like watching movies, going for a walk or eating heavy food. Such activities will not let you progress faster than you can handle.

Breakthrough Treatments For Arthritis In Cats

What I love about living in today’s world is that there are so many advancements going on. If you have ever had a cat that was diagnosed with arthritis or you think your cat is displaying signs of arthritis, then the good news is that you have a greater variety of options when it comes to treatment for arthritis in cats. It seems that modern medicine has found that it can work in harmony and with success when it comes to combining with the natural remedies and more traditional medicines. There have been some major breakthroughs when it comes to treatment for arthritis in cats.

For many years now, NSAIDS (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) have been used to curb the inflammation and pain that arthritis brings. It has had limited success due to the harsh side effects that it causes, especially to cats. However, many veterinarians believe that they can effectively combine the traditional NSAIDS with more herbal or natural remedies to combine and be an effective defense against the onset of feline arthritis. The NSAIDS would be used in far lesser quantities and therefore tolerance should be more acceptable.

The combination of the NSAIDS would be with a group of known safe natural drugs that have been called DMOAAs (Disease Modifying Osteoarthritic Agents). There have already been studies that suggest that these drugs have been successful in the treatment and can be a good preventative measure in the onset of arthritis. The most encouraging aspect of these tests is that they have not shown to have incurred any side effects and indeed will require the animal take a lower dosage of the NSAIDS. It is believed that they are just as successful as the use of NSAIDS on their own.

This is great news for the felines of the world. With a delicate metabolism and a propensity to be sensitive to medication, any drug that delivers zero side effects would be most welcomed. These drugs have also been found to aid in other ailments such as itchy flaky skin (pruritis) and also have some anti-cancer effects as well as being able to prevent an Alzheimer-like condition.

In addition to those breakthroughs, the DMOAAs have proven to be a very effective treatment for arthritis in cats. They can remove free radicals, which are responsible for joint damage, as well as rebuild cartilage and halt the breakdown of the surface of the joint. Clearly, this is a very exciting time in medicine and when it comes to finding a successful and effective treatment for arthritis in cats, then the combination of traditional and modern medicine is a welcomed partnership for many.

Obviously, preventative measures to ensure that your cat gets the best chance at health and life without the risk of arthritis is of optimum importance. While you cannot prevent many types of arthritis, you can certainly treat your cat before the symptoms show. This would therefore enable your pet to live comfortably for as long as possible without the prospect of pain and until there is the next medical breakthrough.

Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is an autoimmune disease that causes chronic inflammation of the joints. Rheumatoid arthritis can also cause inflammation of the tissue around the joints, as well as in other organs in the body. Autoimmune diseases are illnesses that occur when the body’s tissues are mistakenly attacked by their own immune system. The immune system contains a complex organization of cells and antibodies designed normally to “seek and destroy” invaders of the body, particularly infections. Patients with autoimmune diseases have antibodies in their blood that target their own body tissues, where they can be associated with inflammation. Because it can affect multiple other organs of the body, rheumatoid arthritis is referred to as a systemic illness and is sometimes called rheumatoid disease.

Rheumatoid Arthritis Causes

The cause of rheumatoid arthritis is not known. Many factors are involved in the abnormal activity of the immune system that characterizes rheumatoid arthritis. These factors include genetics (heredity), hormones (explaining why the disease is more common in women than men), and possibly infection by a bacterium or virus.

Symptoms of Rheumatoid Arthritis

Here are the major Rheumatoid arthritis symptoms.

The signs & symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis

Unlike osteoarthritis, which results from wear and tear on your joints, rheumatoid arthritis is an inflammatory condition. The exact cause of rheumatoid arthritis is unknown, but it’s believed to be the body’s immune system attacking the tissue that lines your joints (synovium).

Rheumatoid arthritis is two to three times more common in women than in men and generally strikes between the ages of 20 and 50. But rheumatoid arthritis can also affect young children and adults older than age 50.

There’s no cure for rheumatoid arthritis. But with proper treatment, a strategy for joint protection and changes in lifestyle, you can live a long, productive life with this condition.
Signs and symptoms

The signs and symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis may come and go over time. They include:

* Pain and swelling in your joints, especially in the smaller joints of your hands and feet
* Generalized aching or stiffness of the joints and muscles, especially after sleep or after periods of rest
* Loss of motion of the affected joints
* Loss of strength in muscles attached to the affected joints
* Fatigue, which can be severe during a flare-up
* Low-grade fever
* Deformity of your joints over time
* General sense of not feeling well (malaise)

Rheumatoid arthritis usually causes problems in several joints at the same time. Early in rheumatoid arthritis, the joints in your wrists, hands, feet and knees are the ones most often affected. As the disease progresses, your shoulders, elbows, hips, jaw and neck can become involved. It generally affects both sides of your body at the same time. The knuckles of both hands are one example.

Small lumps, called rheumatoid nodules, may form under your skin at pressure points and can occur at your elbows, hands, feet and Achilles tendons. Rheumatoid nodules may also occur elsewhere, including the back of your scalp, over your knee or even in your lungs. These nodules can range in size — from as small as a pea to as large as a walnut. Usually these lumps aren’t painful.

In contrast to osteoarthritis, which affects only your bones and joints, rheumatoid arthritis can cause inflammation of tear glands, salivary glands, the linings of your heart and lungs, your lungs themselves and, in rare cases, your blood vessels.

Although rheumatoid arthritis is often a chronic disease, it tends to vary in severity and may even come and go. Periods of increased disease activity — called flare-ups or flares — alternate with periods of relative remission, during which the swelling, pain, difficulty sleeping, and weakness fade or disappear.

Swelling or deformity may limit the flexibility of your joints. But even if you have a severe form of rheumatoid arthritis, you’ll probably retain flexibility in many joints.
Illustration comparing rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis

Osteoarthritis, the most common form of arthritis, involves the wearing away of the cartilage that caps the bones in your joints. With rheumatoid arthritis, the synovial membrane that protects and lubricates joints becomes inflamed, causing pain and swelling. Joint erosion may follow.

* Osteoarthritis

Causes

As with other forms of arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis involves inflammation of the joints. A membrane called the synovium lines each of your movable joints. When you have rheumatoid arthritis, white blood cells — whose usual job is to attack unwanted invaders, such as bacteria and viruses — move from your bloodstream into your synovium. Here, these blood cells appear to play an important role in causing the synovial membrane to become inflamed (synovitis).

This inflammation results in the release of proteins that, over months or years, cause thickening of the synovium. These proteins can also damage cartilage, bone, tendons and ligaments. Gradually, the joint loses its shape and alignment. Eventually, it may be destroyed.

Some researchers suspect that rheumatoid arthritis is triggered by an infection — possibly a virus or bacterium — in people with an inherited susceptibility. Although the disease itself is not inherited, certain genes that create an increased susceptibility are. People who have inherited these genes won’t necessarily develop rheumatoid arthritis. But they may have more of a tendency to do so than others. The severity of their disease may also depend on the genes inherited. Some researchers also believe that hormones may be involved in the development of rheumatoid arthritis.
Illustration showing inflammation of rheumatoid arthritis

Rheumatoid arthritis typically strikes joints, causing pain, swelling and deformity. As your synovial membranes become inflamed and thickened, fluid builds up and joints erode and degrade.
Risk factors

The exact causes of rheumatoid arthritis are unclear, but these factors may increase your risk:

* Getting older, because incidence of rheumatoid arthritis increases with age. However, incidence begins to decline in women over the age of 80.
* Being female.
* Being exposed to an infection, possibly a virus or bacterium, that may trigger rheumatoid arthritis in those with an inherited susceptibility.
* Inheriting specific genes that may make you more susceptible to rheumatoid arthritis.
* Smoking cigarettes over a long period of time.

When to seek medical advice

See your doctor if you have persistent discomfort and swelling in multiple joints on both sides of your body. Your doctor can work with you to develop a pain management and treatment plan. Also seek medical advice if you experience side effects from your arthritis medications. Side effects may include nausea, abdominal discomfort, black or tarry stools, changes in bowel habits, constipation and drowsiness.
Screening and diagnosis

If you have signs and symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis, your doctor will likely conduct a physical examination and request laboratory

Many people suffer the aches and pains of damaged or inflamed joints. Some are just uncomfortable, and some become crippled as a result of a disease that has been recognized since prehistoric urnes but understood in only the past few decades.
Arthritis is a joint disorder featuring inflammation. A joint is an area of the body where two different bones meet. A joint functions to move the body parts connected by its bones. Arthritis literally means inflammation of one or more joints.

Treatment Option for Arthritis

Breakthrough Non-Drug Arthritis Treatment

The Prosorba column, a therapeutic device currently in use in the USA, will be launched in Canada as a new option for rheumatoid arthritis treatment. The Prosoba column is a plastic cylinder about the size of a coffee mug that contains a sand-like substance coated with a special material called Protein A. Protein A is unique in that it binds certain elements from your blood called antibodies. Unwanted antibodies can result in disease. The Prosorba column works to counter the effect of these harmful antibodies.

Pick, pour or peel

If you are looking for a tasty healthy treat, reach for an orange – or a tall glass of orange juice. Why? Recent research has shown the importance of vitamin C and other antioxidants in reducing the risk of osteoarthritis and its progression. Another bonus: oranges and other citrus fruits are good sources of folic acid, which can help alleviate the side effects of the arthritis drug methotrexate and reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease in women who have lupus.
Other braces, such as functional knee braces, may be custom-designed and fitted especially for you by a health-care professional who specializes in orthotics – the science of developing devices designed to help weakened limbs function better. A physician, orthotist, or physical or occupational therapist will take into consideration your individual circumstances, as well as the part of your body affected by OA, before incorporating bracing into your treatment plan.

Here are some other ways to make the most of your arthritis pain treatment:

Make sure that your treatment simultaneously includes all available therapeutic approaches, including behavioral pain management techniques. It is essential to address arthritis pain from a multi-disciplinary perspective.

Pace yourself to make sure that you participate in just the right amount of physical activity — not so much or so little that you aggravate your condition. Moderate, well-timed exercise is important to both your physical and emotional well-being. A trained physical therapist can help design the activity regimen that will work best for you.

Rheumatoid Arthritis Treatment

The treatment for Rheumatoid Arthritis may include drugs, surgery and physical therapy- or all three. Find out what treatments are available.

Biologics are genetically engineered proteins derived from human genes. They are designed to either inhibit specific components of the immune system that play a pivotal role in either fueling or suppressing inflammation (a key component in several forms of arthritis, such as rheumatoid arthritis and psoriatic arthritis).

The Dalai Lama explains the principles of meditation in a practice-oriented format especially suited for Westerners.Stages of Meditation is a commentary by the Dalai Lama on a rare text by ninth-century Indian Buddhist scholar Kamalashila, written in Tibet to correct some Chinese misinterpretations of Buddhism that were influential at the time. Kamalashila’s short work is not widely known today, but according to the Dalai Lama, it is a most important text, and worthy of study by those new to Buddhism, because “on the basis of this knowledge you will be able to understand other treatises without great difficulty. This text can be like a key that opens the door to all other major Buddhist scriptures.”

Throughout the book, the Dalai Lama emphasizes the importance of logical analysis of scriptures, even if they are in the Buddha’s own words; some teachings, he stresses, “should not be taken literally, but need interpretation.” And this is what he does in this clear and readable commentary, originally given in 1989 and now translated and published for the first time. Its 10 short chapters are on such familiar Buddhist themes as Training the Mind, Compassion, Identifying the Nature of Suffering, and The Practice of Calm Abiding.

“Through meditation,” says the Dalai Lama, “we can train our minds in such a way that negative qualities are abandoned and positive qualities are generated and enhanced.” Those who practice meditation, whether Buddhist or not, will find this a thoughtful and practical guide, written with the Dalai Lama’s characteristic warmth and gentleness. –David V Barrett, Amazon.co.uk

Feline Arthritis Treatment – A Starting Point to Slow the Progression of Arthritis in Cats

Have you noticed that your cat is starting to limp or hesitates to leap up on your lap. This could very well be the onset of feline arthritis. As you look for a feline arthritis treatment, talk to your vet about traditional options as well as more holistic methods. When a feline arthritis treatment is started in the early stages you may be able to slow or even stop future damage. It is even possible to reverse the condition a bit. Arthritis isn’t an enjoyable disease to experience, especially if nothing is done to manage the pain or treat the symptoms.

The more observant you are, the faster symptoms will be noticed. Here are some typical symptoms:

1. Your cat suddenly starts limping 2. She is stiff when she wakes up or is less agile than before 3. She may lick a joint area excessively

The faster you get a diagnosis, the sooner you can start a feline arthritis treatment and stop osteoarthritis from becoming worse.

The goal is to keep things from progressing and to keep her joints lubricated. Your vet will ask you about your cat’s symptoms, give her a thorough examination and observe her as she moves as well as while she rests. The vet will move the joints around to see which ones are painful or hurt more than others.

Once the specific joint or multiple joints have been identified, the vet will mostly like take tests like x-rays or fluid analysis of the joints. This will give the doctor a better idea of what the best course of action is. Treatment is going to depend on what’s causing the arthritis and how bad it’s affecting the cat.

If a cat suddenly develops traumatic arthritis through a simple strain, then resting it for several days and a short version of anti-lamasery medicine will help. If it’s extreme, then support dressings may also be used.

If a cat is struggling with osteoarthritis, then several things will be included in the feline arthritis treatment program. One is anti-inflammatory medications that are usually only used for the short term, and it’s usually to encourage the cat’s movement. It won’t be a miracle cure, especially since the stiffness will disappear only when the cat’s on them. They mainly work as a painkiller and should only be used along with a good exercise program and weight control.

Keeping your cat under a strict diet will be necessary if your cat is overweight. Weight control is an important aspect of any kind of feline arthritis treatment. When there’s excess weight, it’s going to put more pressure on the joints and cause more pain. It’s also going to benefit if an exercise plan is developed, especially if the cat’s struggling with osteoarthritis. Even a small amount is going to be effective. It’s important you don’t allow it to sleep in one spot at a time.
