Problems
Pet obesity is on the rise. According to the Association for Pet Obesity Prevention, the 2009 population of dogs was estimated at 77.5 million, and an estimated 45% of canines in the United States are considered overweight or obese. A similar study was performed in 2008 by the same organization which indicated that over 40 percent of dogs were estimated to be obese.
